When Harry Met Sally. -
This is a brilliant presentation, based on the castle rock entertainment motion picture, at the royal haymarket theatre. The stars include Luke Perry (from the original buffy movie, 1992), and Alyson Hannigan. With a spectacular storyline what could go wrong?
''Can a man and a women have sex and still be friends?''
Harry meets Sally when he helps his girlfriend out by painting Sally's new New York appartment. Harry tells how a man and a women can never be 'just friends' as the man always has other things on his mind. The relationship doesn't start out fantasticly, and Sally ends up asking him to leave.
Several years later they bump into each other at a fitness centre, Sally with her boyfriend and Harry engaged. Again they get talking, but still can't seem to click as friends. Sally storms out.
They later on they meet accidentally in a shopping mall, with Harry eager to talk. Sally has now broken up with her boyfriend as he wasn't interested in marriage; Harry has broken the engagement as he finds out that his fiancee cheated on him, and never really loved him.
They talk and meet regularly, after finally finding that spark of friendship. Harry explains that he can talk to her about anything, and Sally feels the same. He mentions that 'she's the only attractive women he's known that he hasn't wanted to have sex with'.
A few nights later Harry gets a call from Sally in tears. He gets over there as soon as possible to comfort her. Sally has found out that her ex is engaged to someone. Sally doesn't love him or anything like that, it's just the fact that he didn't want to marry her that upset her. they get it on and afterwards he 'runs for the hills,' leaving Sally distraut.
Harry leaves Sally messages of apology on her answering machine for the whole year, with no response. He ends up singing down the phone, forcing Sally to pick up. she tells him to f**k off.
Then at their friends' wedding they meet again, both dateless and unhappy. on the rooftop Harry admits to Sally that he loves her, Sally hates him for this as she loves him too.
They get together and live 'happily ever after.'
THE END.
This was a brilliant performance, and a great chance to meet Al;yson, and other cast members, 10/10.
